FAQ
Absolutely. They’re 2/3 lighter, perform well than lead-acid batteries in saltwater conditions. Just make sure they’re secured properly.
For kayaks, we recommend using 12V batteries with trolling motors of 30–70 lbs thrust; bass boats typically require 24V systems with 70–100 lbs thrust; and fishing boats often need 36V setups with 100–120 lbs thrust for optimal performance.
If your fishing boat uses a low-power motor with less than 30 lbs of thrust and your typical fishing trips last under 3 hours, a 50Ah battery is sufficient.
However, if you have a medium to high-power motor with over 30 lbs of thrust or need more than 5 hours of runtime, a 100Ah battery is recommended to ensure stable and long-lasting power supply.
With a 36lb thrust trolling motor, a 50Ah battery can run approximately 1.6 hours at high speed, 3.3 hours at medium speed, and up to 13.3 hours at low speed. For longer run time, check out our 100Ah or 200Ah options.
With a 45lb thrust trolling motor, a 50Ah battery can run about 1.2 hours at high speed, 2.4 hours at medium speed, and up to 9.5 hours at low speed. For extended run time, consider upgrading to a 100Ah or 200Ah battery.
Yes, trolling motors can be power-hungry, especially on high settings, and LiFePO4 cells are designed to handle bursts of current without overheating or dipping too much in voltage.
Depends on your charger. For example, a 50Ah battery with a 20A charger will be full in around 2.5 hours. Always use a charger made for LiFePO4.
Use our Bluetooth App or a battery monitor. It’s a great way to keep tabs on real-time voltage and capacity, especially when you're drifting for hours.
It is recommended to store LiFePO4 lithium batteries at a 50% state of charge (SOC). For prolonged storage, it is advisable to cycle the batteries at least once every six months. Recommended storage environment: 10℃~35℃ (50℉~95℉),45%RH~75%RH.
